Adi Stoenescu I remember I missed this concert in Bucharest and immediately regretted after finding out from fellow musicians that it was great! Happy to see this ended up being a live recording! From this album, I like the free, poetic moments happening during improvisation. Also, check the infectious chromatic riff from Ti Si Znaish, Maina! Great stuff, Borislav Petrov, looking forward to the next material! Favorite track: Ti Si Znaish, Maina.

about

Jazzanitza Sofia, Bulgaria

Jazzanitza is a new generation of ethno-jazz which translates the ancient Balkan groove and the improvisational legacy of the Bulgarian folk giants into the language of current jazz.
The sound of Jazzanitza excites both the intellect and the body: while speaking the complex language of modern jazz, it thumps with the beat of the asymmetrical dance rhythms so prevalent in Bulgarian folk music.
